EMISAR: C- and L-band polarimetric and interferometric SAR
نویسندگان
چکیده
EMISAR is a Cand L-band fully polarimetric (i.e. 4 complex channel per frequency) synthetic aperture radar designed for remote sensing with high demands for resolution (2 m), polarization discrimination, and absolute radiometric and polarimetric calibration. The present installation has one 3axes stabilized antenna (Cor L-band) and two flush mounted C-band antennas providing the system with cross track and repeat track interferometric capabilities.

Polarimetric and Interferometric SAR Calibration Verification Methods
It is necessary to calibrate SAR data in order to use the data for science applications. When both polarimetric and interferometric data are collected simultaneously, these SAR data can be used for cross-calibration and verification. The frequency of polarimetric and interferometric data does not have to be the same for this purpose. For example, the NASA/JPL AIRSAR system can acquire C-band in...
متن کاملEMISAR: An Absolutely Calibrated Polarimetric - and -band SAR
EMISAR is a high-resolution (2 2 m), fully polarimetric, dual-frequency (Land C-band) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system designed for remote-sensing applications. The SAR is operated at high altitudes on a Gulfstream G-3 jet aircraft. The system is very well calibrated and has low sidelobes and low cross-polar contamination. Digital technology has been utilized to realize a flexible and high...
متن کاملAnalysis of Built-Up Areas from Polarimetric Interferometric SAR Images
This paper describes the analysis of built-up areas using fully polarimetric interferometric SAR data at L-band. This approach uses a polarimetric interferometric segmentation to determine the number of dominant scattering mechanisms required by an interferometric phase estimation using ESPRIT method.
متن کاملMulti-look polarimetric SAR image filtering using simulated annealing
Based on a previously published algorithm capable of estimating the radar cross-section in synthethic aperture radar (SAR) intensity images, a new filter is presented utilizing multilook polarimetric SAR images. The underlying mean covariance matrix is estimated from the observed sample covariance matrices, and by applying a set of small orientation-dependent filters in an iterative scheme, the...
متن کاملSingle-baseline polarimetric SAR interferometry
The objective of this paper is to examine the application of single-baseline polarimetric SAR interferometry to the remote sensing and measurement of structure over forested terrain. For this, a polarimetric coherent scattering model for vegetation cover suitable for the estimation of forest parameters from interferometric observables is introduced, discussed and validated. Based on this model,...
